The International Luge Federation (FIL) was founded in 1957 and is recognised by the International Olympic Committee as the highest institution for all matters relating to luge sports. Luge has been part of the Olympic programme since 1964 with the one-seater men's, one-seater women's and twoseater disciplines. Currently, the FIL has 50 member countries.
Conceptum Logistics deals with all the international bobsleigh, skeleton and luge transportation for the German Bobsleigh and Luge Association (BSD).
The German Bobsleigh Verband (DBV) was founded in Frankfurt am Main by five founder clubs from Friedrichroda, Illmenau, Oberhof, Schierke and Winterberg. A further five clubs, this time from Bad Sachsa, Dresden, Hanover, Hildesheim and Illmenau, were involved just seven weeks later in founding the German Luge Federation (DRB) on 26th December 1911.
The effects of the Second World War saw a new organisation for the sport come into existence in the divided Germany. In the newly formed Federal Republic, bobsleigh, luge and skeleton were brought together in the German Bobsleigh and Toboggan Sports Association (DBSV), founded on 29th October 1949, again in Frankfurt am Main.
As part of the German reunification, the DSBV of the German Democratic Republic merged with the West German DBSV in 1990 in Berchtesgaden. The joint association, which controlled the development of luge sports in Germany, was renamed the German Bobsleigh and Toboggan Association (BSD) on 24th June 2000.

Through its nine state associations, the BSD has about 100 clubs with around 8,000 members. It is located in the Bavarian town of Berchtesgaden.
Conceptum Logistics GmbH ensures the smooth international transportation of bobsleigh and skeletons for numerous FIBT-affiliated national associations. Furthermore, the company looks after the surface transportation for bobsleighs and skeletons in the USA and Canada.
