Brief description
As a Manager Operations & Project Management (m/f/d), you play a key role in ensuring the efficient, accurate, and seamless handling of customer project tenders as well as internal and partner requests. Together with the Customer Request Management & Pricing team, you coordinate the execution of domestic and international project shipments and contribute to delivering outstanding service across global logistics networks.
We are looking for talented professionals based in Ukraine, Poland, Uzbekistan, Slovakia, Romania and Istanbul who enjoy working in an international environment, collaborating across teams, and taking ownership of customer-focused projects. You will work remotely while collaborating closely with all offices worldwide; especially our team at the Headquarters Hamburg.
- Operational handling of worldwide project shipments and spot shipments
- OOG, heavy lift, conventional shipments, RoRo, container shipments, LCL and air freight
- Creating files in the system, operational and commercial data maintenance, supplier selection (including subcontractor management and expansion), and negotiations to optimize margins
- Recording of services provided by shipping lines and subcontractors, coordination at transshipment points, customs clearance, preparation of shipping documents
- Internal freight reports to accounting, invoicing, processing of damage reports / claims
- Telephone and written contact with customers, suppliers, shipping companies, terminals, partners, agents and own companies worldwide
- Reedern, Terminals, Partnern, Agenten und eigenen Häusern
- If necessary, traveling (loading and unloading monitoring on site, kick-off meeting, etc.)
- Successfully completed commercial training (ideally in the field of freight forwarding and logistics or shipping) or comparable qualification
- Initial experience in the field of project loading (OOG, heavy lift)
- Initial experience or interest in breakbulk transportation by sea/land
- Enjoyment of managing large-scale international projects
- A structured and conscientious approach to work
- The willingness to learn new things, actively contribute, and a high degree of self-motivation
- Openness, the ability to work well in a team, organizational skills, resilience, and strong negotiation skills
- Good knowledge of MS Office, knowledge of Cargosoft desirable
- Good knowledge of English, other foreign language(s) desirable
- A reliable, professional demeanor
